This winter I want to switch out my vertical slider kitchen window to a one piece glass window. I have the kitchen window out of a 1973 Canyon Lands which is a single glass pane. The exterior rubber molding looks different than on any of my other windows of a 76 Palm Beach. Is there a difference between the years on the rubber molding or does the single glass pane require a different rubber.

Bruce, our 74 has no rubber around the outer window frame. Must have been added when they changed windows in 75. I would get some of the rolled sealant used on the new style windows and stick it in the hole.

As I took another look it seems that the toll windows are sealed with the
same rubber molding. Just a guess on my part.

Just curious, why do you want to take out a slider kitchen window and replace it with a solid one? I have solid kitchen and door windows on my 73 and would love to be able to open them. If it is in good shape, I am interested in it.

I am going to redo the counter top. My wife and I are very pleased at work
the PO has done but putting the microwave where the stove was is a pain to
have to bend over or kneel on the floor every time to use it. I am going
to reinstall the oven and place the microwave above the oven. We will be
going with a flat granite counter top and that would partially cover the
bottom of the kitchen window. Others here in the net have tinted the
kitchen window and covered it from the inside that is what we will do.
I have access to some stainless sheet metal and will cover the back and
side walls with that.

The Window- I have a few request for the window and decide to go with a
sealed bid. Window going to highest bidder. I have new rubber molding on
the out side of the window (three weeks ago).
I haven't taken the window out yet, this will happen over the course of the
winter or early spring. Send me private email if interested and I will
send you back more info.

The windows you have are from two different designs. They are interchangeable as an complete assembly, but the individual parts, if you disassemble the window, are not interchangeable. The cut-out in the body is pretty close to the same size, but dry fit first to be sure. If you have to trim, trim just a little at a time. Use putty tape to seal it down.
Window design changeover was sometime during the 1975 build year.
Tom, MS II with only one early window left to replace.
