Well, I guess that I can put my 2 cents worth here. Jerry and Sharon Work,
this was without a doubt, the best rally that I have ever attended. My
perspective from this rally is one of a presenter, a vendor, and an
attendee. Gene Fisher and Gary Bovee along with the Casino AV staff made
sure that all the presenters had what they needed to get the point across
to very well attended tech sessions. The microphones and sound systems
worked so that all in the room could hear and see the screens, as well as
follow on their PDA's, kindles, or etc. The vendor area was separate from
the tech sessions, not in the back of a large room where any talking would
bother the presenters. I was able to display my products, and to
demonstrate them without bothering any one else.
The Wine Walk in downtown was planned and executed without drama.
Transportation to and from the events was handled without a hitch.
The Culinary Arts tour at the local Community College was another
highlight. All those coaches with full hook ups was another huge plus. I
was very busy helping others with the many small issues that pop up with
130 or so 40 year old vehicles.
On Saturday night, after the wine pairing, I tried to get to the bottom of
the Margarita bucket at the Outdoor Cookout. Didn't make it, but not for
lack of trying. We didn't have Branson, but we did have Steve Ferguson, Jim
Dechine, and several others playing in the Yurt with a Jam session. Every
person I talked to had a blast.
Good food, fellowship, Sharon and Dwayne Jacobson Devotional Talk, Sand
Dunes, Great Weather. They just don't get any better than this. Thanks to
all of you who helped.

Gene,
It was a great rally.
Like any event, all the help that was put in made it a great one, and I thank all that participated including all that showed up.
Having the clubs teaming up certainly made the difference.
I had not seen so many 49'ers in one room as was there in 34 years that I have been a member.
Hope we can team up again to have another soon.

Number one is maybe a bit too ambiguous.
It sounds like you are advocating the deletion of the programs the the
women would be more interested in.
There were a fair number of grumbles and growls about the lack of them at
Coos Bay. Many of the ladies are not interested in engine or chassis
maintenance. I agree that the programs should be sequential, rather
than parallel. A place to play Jokers and Marbles or ???? during the
programs you don't want to attend might be in order.

The simple statement, a good time was had by all, certainly appears to be operative for this event. Lots of people - and marvelously cooperative weather - made such a great outcome possible. We felt strongly from the beginning day of planning this one that multi-club rallies are the wave of the future. So many of our newer, younger owners do not have a tradition of joining clubs as they satisfy their social needs in other ways. As a result, I think club affiliation will be less and less important as time goes on, but the joy of gathering with other like minded GMC motorhome nut cases like all of us will grow in popularity and in age diversity. The more we can all do to break up the sameness of some of these events with new ideas on locations, programs, schedules, events, and ways to give back to the communities that host us, the b

My wife Susie enjoyed the GMC seminars we attended
Then she wants to know about the GMC.
She is not interested in shopping or things of that sort.
We bought enjoyed the side trips.
Coos Bay has so much to see and do.
We came away from Coos Bay feeing we had made new friends and had a chance to catch up with old friends.
After 43 years of marriage she still enjoys my company.
I'm a lucky man.
Thanks

PS I asked Susie if she thought the rally was boring.
No was her answer.

So, my suggestion is to honor both by creating programs of broad interest as well as the more narrowly focused "engine and chassis maintenance" topics. The early morning Birds of a Feather technical gatherings were quite popular from the feedback we received. BTW, the Yurt in the RV park was designated as the place for games for those who did not want to attend a given program and it saw lots of action, too.

This was the first rally that Sharon sat through many of the seminars and
said how much she got out of them. She really enjoyed then and is talking
to others about things she learned. Well done guys and dolls.
