I was talking to Randy Van Winkle a couple of days ago about getting the wires, and pins out of the plugs that go into the ECM. I thought I had it figured out. NOT. I'm not finding the right combination of tool, and angle. What works? I'm having a lot of FUN on this project. And that's why we do this stuff. RIGHT. I've also figured out that these GMC's are vegetarians. They require a large diet of FRESH GREEN BACKS daily. You can harvest them at a place called a bank.
So. Setting here, lonely,and lost with my martinie, and pick. And my Jimmy looking over my shoulder on a Saturday night.
Bob Dunahugh78 Royale. I think.

Do a search for Delphi Packard Series 56 terminals and tools. These are the type of connectors that GM commonly used just before the "weather pack" era that came along with electronics in the late 70s. I did a quick search and found this for example;

I have no experience with this particular supplier but you get the idea.

Hang in there, Bob. You'll eventually learn the sweet spot and then it
becomes trivially simple. My problem was always that I wanted to release
from the wrong side of the pin.

Doh! Use the above for 73-78 GM wiring. You are looking for 90s ECM pins so you'll want Delphi Packard metri-pack instead of series 56.

What year ECM are you working on Bob? The 1997 up plug doesn't need a tool to remove wires. You pull the clip off the plug, flip the top of the connector up and pull the pin/wire out.
