Dan,

Check out these folks. http://www.nofp.com/
They have a product that appears to have good performance and does not fill
the airspace from the OEM foam and the headliner.
They use the air space as an additional decoupler. Make sense to me and I
will install on my coach.

IN OTHER WORDS, SEAL THE ALUMINUM SKIN, USE THE AIR SPACE AND THEIR PRODUCT
TO ACHIEVE IMPROVED R- FACTOR.
