Doing the dash i am looking at the diagram of the fusebox. According the diagram there are no fuses for the headlights ? That can not be right. Maybe they are somewhere else ?

I believe there is a circuit breaker for the headlights inside the headlight switch.

Appie,
Bruce is correct, there is a circuit breaker inside the headlight switch assembly. The drawing shows it as an 25 Amp rating. As you look at the wiring drawing it is in the upper left corner of the switch. Just follow the #12 red wire on the drawing to the switch and you see the curved device just inside the box with a 25A next to it.

Yep found the diagram, guess it does not work right as the plug is burned out Better fuse it now that I am on it

That does not mean that the circuit breaker doesn't work.
It is likely that the connection had a poor connection (dirty contacts) and overheating and burned the connection.
without drawing the 20 amps that would trip the breaker.
The same thing would happen with a fuse so I think that inserting a fuse would just be a waster of your time.

Same problem as at the fan resistor. Oxidation causes heat due to resistance. The GM 'way' on the thermal headlamp breaker was so that if a failing lamp filament shorted internally in the sealed beam, a blown fuse would leave you in the dark. This way it self resets when cooled. Adding a user fuse adds more resistance and voltage drop. As Emery stated, no need.

ok thanks for that input
Decided to drop in relais to take the current away from the switch, adding a set of long beams and at the same time a shift relais between the new foglight and dipbeam

There will be light
