My low fuel indicator light just stays on even though the fuel gauge says I have 3/4 tank of fuel. I know the fuel gauge is probably right since I just fueled up. I cleaned mostly all of the connections under the right and left hood and that is when the problem began. Where is the low fuel indicator switch located ? I looked at the wiring diagrams but can't find where it may be at. Could this just be a bad connection or is there a switch that needs to be replaced?

T,

The fuel low indicator is driven by the signal from the sending unit(s)(as selected by the switch). If the light is on when it should not be then there is a problem with the module that makes that work. I don't have access to the wiring diagrams at the moment, but they can be had from Bdub's page. I have no idea how the module works.

Look closely at your module, my light stayed on dim, found a tiny hairline crack in one of the solder joints. Although this device is a wedge base light socket, there is nothing soldered to one side of the socket, so it was never intended as a light itself, just feedback to the guage light. I heated the cracked joint with solder iron and fixed it.
