Hey All;

Not that anyone really cares, but here are some of my thoughts on
the GMCWS Coos Bay Rally:

It was a great time! I mean a really GREAT time!! It was really nice
to see it attended so well. Lots and lots of coaches. Fun to see old
friends and to meet new ones.

I could really tell that there were a couple of retired executives
running this event. Lots of delegation to some really talented folks
from WS, Cascaders, and the 49ers. It appeared that every contingency
was thought through, and every problem was handled with a positive
spirit and result. Professionalism throughout.

The facilities at The Mill Casino are FANTASTIC! Clear microphones and
huge screens that can be heard and seen. The International club should
check out this place.

Gotta thank the Curtis's for the travel log that they gave to everyone
in the give-away bag. I've started using mine.

The evening meals were outstanding! However, I have learned that if
all I have for breakfast is decaff coffee and donuts, that it's good
to be sitting next to the emergency person (Faye) as my head almost
hit the table from sugar shock 2 hours later. Staggered back to the
coach for an emergency hotdog just in time.

Was interesting that there were a few technical sessions given by real
people, but the majority of the technical sessions were given by the
vendors. Haven't seen that style before. Excellent presentations, but
no handouts.

It was really nice to see all of the pictures posted on the net. I
really liked the video of GMCs. It was great that the Casino allowed
The GMCWS to put more than one coach in a spot. I think I was the only
one in the dry-camping area, but then I was in my SOB thanks to my
wife (who couldn't make it but I didn't find out until the last day
and by then I couldn't get the Stretch ready in time (it's stuck in
first gear due to a governor gear)). We need more videos.

The vendor area always seemed to be packed every time I tried to see
what was there. I think they sold lots of stuff, but not to me (and I
really wanted a new door striker plate from Bert).

I liked the electronic handouts (when they were available (shame on
you vendors)). I could sit in the back of the room and view them on my
Kindle. VERY NICE! I hope this new practice will continue (GeneF,
please?).

The sand on the dunes was/is excellent. Thanks to Manny, Kirk, and
Eloise for a couple of great runs. I hung around for a couple of days
after the rally so I could get out on the dunes, but it rained both
days.
