After stellar weather for the week we left Coos Bay a day early on Sunday
morning and travelled to Redding, CA, about 300 miles. Long day through the
twisties from the coast then through southern OR and Norcal. Left Redding
about 8:00 am yesterday and put the hammer down and got back home at 10:00
pm last night about 700 miles. Threw an A/C belt outside of Fresno but had a
spare and put it on. Other than that very uneventful trip. Came up through
the Tehachapi mountains to avoid the LA bustle. Added a few miles but much
easier than being in rush hour in LA. Spoke with Armand and Carol Minnie
this morning and they were near Red Bluff, CA on the way home to AZ.

Just a fun time in Coos Bay, good food, lots of mini-parties and lie
telling. Joanne won a hundred bucks over the course of the two casinos we
stayed at however I think some others did much better. Fortunately gas
prices were all the in the $3.50 range both in OR and selected CA gas
stations.

Bought 10 pieces of the clearest, straight grain douglas fir planks I have
ever seen. Currently stowed under the back bunk. I have no idea what I will
use it for but could not pass up the deal. Also bought a case of canned
albacore from http://chucksseafood.com in Charleston, OR a few miles from
Coos Bay. We like tuna but some of the stuff in the markets I would not feed
to my cat!. Will send a pic link later today for some of the lighthouses in
the area that we toured.

Thanks to the Works, the Minnies and the de Graffenreids, (and many others)
for a great week.

Thanks,

Gary and Joanne Worobec

Gary, as usual we had a great time talking with you and Joanne. I have not laughed that much for a long time.

I have to emphasize the "many others" because there were so many. All three of the clubs pride themselves on volunteerism and this was an amazingly successful project that was contributed to equally by members of all three clubs. Jerry and Sharon planned it and got volunteer teams (with every club participating in every team) to implement the plan.

A real blast so our thanks to everyone too.

Hi Gary and GMC's
We headed over to Fernley NV spending time with our grandsons.
Susie drove today from Fernley to Lone Pine had a little snow on 395 at the passes.
On the way out of Sparks we saw GMC with an orange strip on the front and one head light behind us on I-580/395.
Lost sight of them after we came on to US 395 around Carson.
We stopped in Carson at the south end of town for breakfast at Grandma Hattie's boy if you ever are near there stop it across the HIWAY from a Honda dealership.
The owner is a baker and he turns out some good food.
First time Susie spotted the place.
The only problem we dry camped at our grandsons home and ran down the house battery's
Plus the dumb A** that's me had turned on the jumper that feeds the starter battery as well.
Forgot to switch it back.
All three battery's where down.
Grandson Ethan had a small charger.
I was then able to start the gen. set and get us down the road.
Joanna won $100.00
That's good news.
We dumped $12.00 and walked out with $.25 what a deal.
We had a wonderful time at Coos Bay thanks to all.

PS best price on gas $3.29.9 in Fernley at Loves.
Highest price was North of Bishop $4.99.9
If you have a Von's/Safeway card gas in Bishop $3.49.9
