Ok, back on this. I'm still not getting good readings on my oil pressure gauge so I'm going to take it back to my mechanic to look at to make sure. This all started when he replaced the intake manifolds and put in the cross over blocking kit Jim K sent to me. I think I'll have him resolve it just to make sure. This is something I just don't want to screw around with. I have some longer camping and fishing trips to make and I want to make sure there isn't a problem here. Just to discribe again what happens is that when first started the oil pressure gauge go way up and stays up at 60 to 80 psi during the warm up. But as the engine warms the pressure drops to at idle below 20 psi, and pretty much stays around that area. When pulling hills and such it does get up to 25 to 30 psi. It runs good and sounds good. I have noticed a new pre-ignition sounds when traveling and accelerating slightly up hills, or when I make a turn and go from idle to acceleration. My question is, how do I read the original gauge. Low to high at the quarter ticks marks. Is the middle tick mark 40 psi?
