We recently bought a 1977 Royale from a nice couple in Henderson,NV. They had been the original owners of the MH in 77 and had given it to their nephew from Michigan in 2010. It looks like the original title had been lost so Michigan used whatever information they could find and issued a title (without a Vin inspection)as the coach was still in NV.
Long story short, Michigan used the Coachmen ID number on the title and not the TZE number. Even though both numbers are on the coach, NM will not recognize it and refuses to issue a title. Michigan says they can not do anything by mail and don't have records going back that far. Driving it to Michigan is out of the question. The only possibility I see is to get the nephew to bring the title to DMV and try to get it resolved. Knowing DMV's, I'm not too confident in the outcome. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks, Hal
