Has anyone rebuilt their onan. Mine's leaking huge amount of oil. Looks like its pouring out of the seal on the fan/flywheel side but its hard to see. Cost?? Degree of difficulty?? Parts avalability?? I built the caddy so rebuilds don't scare me. Special tools??? I read the manual last nite and it looks pretty easy. Oh,,,, this is the one attached to my J.D. 90 skidsteer. Not that it makes a diffrence.(see my post on buying another onan),,,,PL

Flywheel and generator-side crankshaft seals are commonly available from Amazon, Ebay and more traditional bearing shops; email me if you need the numbers. The flywheel is removable using a regular puller and moderate effort. The armature is more difficult as it must be removed by inertia - there's no convenient way to get on it with a puller. I made a tool that runs through the armature and threads into the crank and has an adapter to my slide hammer. Both the flywheel and armature are on tapers which makes removal challenging.

Oil could be coming from other places besides crank seals; the oil filter mount and oil pressure sensor are common sources.
