Some of you guys have read and replied to my earlier posts and I appreciate all the feedback. Now that I have my water issue resolved I'm back to the mysterious furnace.

I've had three GMC coaches and in each one I installed a new furnace. Some may remember that a corroded plug from the furnace to the main wire loom caused the furnace to operate very irrationally and usually shut down because the gas valve never opened. A new molex plug seemed to solve the problem but because it was not very cold, it seemed to run fine. Now that it's colder I discover that, first of all, I have to lower the thermostat all the way to the off position and then up midway. The furnace starts and blows warm air but only for about five minutes. The thermostat is not satisfied because it's still chilly. Minutes later the furnace will start up on its own and run for a while then stop again. The thermostat again is not satisfied. Once again I need to cycle the thermostat to get the furnace going again. Last night it ran and stopped for five seconds then started up again.

The furnace is a new Suburban. The thermostat is a new Suburban brand and the wiring is all good. I'm flummoxed. Anyone have any ideas?
