...sort of. Left Branson this morning after breakfast heading home to Lake Mary, Florida by way of Vicksburg, Ms and New Orleans, La. Arrived at the Ameristar Casino Vicksburg after 8 hours on US-65 south. Lots of hills and grades but pulled them all without any problems. Actually, out pulled a big SOB on one long grade. We had dinner out with the Phipps and tomorrow morning will help Tom raise his new (to him) roof A/C and get it in place before heading on for the BIG EASY. We are both happy we made this rally.

Jim,

Drive the Vicksburg battlefield tour in your coach. If you don't have an "America the Beautiful" (aka Geezer) pass yet you should be able to get one there. If you have one, the tour is free and if you buy one, it will cost you 10$ and then the 10$ tour is free. Be sure to Stop at the Cairo. Say hello to the Phipps for us.

Matt,

Went to grammar school in Green Forest - was born in Berryville which you will be coming to. Beautiful country.

I had a grueling 35 miles getting home to Battlefield, just SW of Springfield Smile

Ada and I had a great Mississippi breakfast with TomP and then it was off to their house to lift the roof A/C up onto the roof of their GMC. Not a big deal. Us two old coots lifted it up and into position. Before we even knew it. ..'twas time to hit the road with mission accomplished and the A/C in it's new home.

We made it to the BIG EASY by 2:30 PM and have taken over HelenM's home away from home. It is the FRENCH QUARTER RV RESORT and a wonderful place (and everything Helen said it would be and more). Thanks Helen.

We are now going to walk down the street and listen to JAZZ IN THE PARK and afterwards some dinner.

Sandra and Johnny,

Last night was great. Free jazz in the park, a little local dinner, and we even found a market on Royal where I stocked up on coffee w/ chicory. Tonite Ada and I are meeting friends to go swing dancing (hope I can keep up).

The green glow is from envy:)
You might want to try Snake and Jake's Christmas Club lounge, if they rebuilt it after the hurricane. It >is< somewhat on the seamy side however.

Johnny, we are both charging our batteries. Slept in to 10:30 this morning. Ada and one of her girl friends had me out dancing last night. Ain't as spry as I used to be.

Walked down to the French Quarter and played tourist all afternoon then had a great steak for dinner then headed back to ANNIE. Tomorrow morning is brunch at Arnaud's then off to Panama City Beach (our last stop) before heading home. We'll be on the road about 3 1/2 to 4 weeks. Time went by fast.

A trip to Snake & Jakes requires charged batteries for sure. I dunno if it is still extant or not, but if it is, The Pasttime Hardware (A mans is only as good as his tools) in Panama City is worth a stop and a game of darts. Remember, last time I spent time on the Redneck Riviera, The Green Knight was still extant also. It burned some while back.

Made it home to Lake Mary, FL around 6 PM this evening. No problems. ....except when ANNIE got down to below 1/2 tank indicated on the aux. tank she wanted to run 72 to 75 mph.
Overall fuel mileage was a steady 7.6 mpg with the dash air and HONDA EV6010 running most of the trip of a little over 3500 miles. Going to bed now, maybe more tomorrow.
