I am very happy and relieved to report that we dodged the bullet!
My daughter finally was able to get to our house and our basement is DRY.
Houses a half block away had flooded basements and we were apparently only a foot higher but we were spared.
There was a lot of debris washed across our driveways but it was few feet away from our garage door.
We are so relieved as we were prepared to leave Branson and return home if we learned we were flooded
Unfortunately many others were not so fortunate and we are sorry that we are not there to assist our neighbors.
By the way, I spoke to Sonny Stratton who has a auto repair garage in Longmont. That was his parking lot with the picture of a GMC motorhome that was posted a couple of days ago surrounded by water. It was a 23 foot that a customer has left there for service only two days before.
Sonny's garage was flooded. He has about 4' of mud in it. His business is about ruined. His diagnostic machines are under water and mud. Even his desk is covered.
He is going to start shoveling things out and try to determine if anything can be salvaged. He doesn't have flood insurance.

Great you dodged that bullet Emery. !
But really sad news about Sonny's Garage. Losing a lifetime of building a business will be hard to overcome.

I'm sorry to hear about Sonny's shop.
I heard of the flooding in that area so I went to Cheyenne and missed the disaster.
I hate the long climb so we go from Larmi to Ft Collens, CO
There are several GMC owners in that area.

I thought you might want to bookmark this, Emery:
http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/2013/0918/For-Colorado-s-biblical-floods-numbers-tell-astonishing-tale-video
The storm dumped 15 inches of rain. The previous May 1969 record was 7.37 inches. 9.08 inches fell last Wednesday alone, nearly doubling the 1919 record of 4.8 inches of rain in one day.
Boulder has seen (17.17 inches) of rain this month ...it usually logs 1.5 inches in September.
The size of the flooded area has been estimated at 4,500 square miles, or roughly the size of Connecticut.
1,502 homes have been destroyed and another 17,494 damaged.
Six major roads have been closed for the "foreseeable future." Between 50 and 100 bridges were completely washed out or hit hard.
