What is a good average oil pressure at cruising speed? How about at idle? 77 403 50K mi. Thanks

You will get many answers to this question.

I love high pressure but have been told lower values are just fine. Some say 10 psi per 1000 rpm. If I could have 50 psi at 65 mph on a hot day life would be perfect (it isn't).

What ever "number" just keep in mind that the measuring device probably has a good margin of error and relative changes on a good running engine are more significant than the number itself.

10 psi per 1000 rpm is pretty standard on GM products. Hot idle should be
around 20-25 psi. These are OEM oil pump numbers.
