I have an original bathroom faucet with the shower diverter. The hot faucet is fine but the cold must be turned quite a bit before the water starts to flow. I find it annoying and want to replace both hot and cold.

Does anyone know if the replacement faucet parts are available at Home Depot or Lowe's or do I need to order these from the Jims?

Any tricks, tips or secrets to replacing these?

Thanks guys. You guys always save my butt.

Lance,

If you take the knob off. (If it still comes off. Be careful as they can be brittle.)
You will see either a hex or a pair of flats - I don't recall.
Unscrew that (with the pump off) and take that to a local hardware store an buy a replacement for the rubber washer that has worn out.

Yes, you can get the washers at a Lowes Despot, but the time you save if you have a good local hardware will easily cover the difference in cost.

You might want to get two and do the hot while you are at it.

I have seen the faucet stems in Ace hardware that fit our original bathroom faucets.
