Situation:
Cheap Chinese grease guns don't use a keyhole slot to hold the follower puller anymore, they use a toggle plate like a screen door holder.
Problem:
Once you coat that bar on the follower puller with real good moly loaded grease, the toggle won't hold it again.
Story:
I loaded my new HF grease gun with Valvoline SynPower. It wouldn't prime. So, I decided to do what I have rarely had to do in the past and pack the piston so it would prime. When I tried to pull the follower back, it would not lock back. After some strange rigging and contortions, I managed to get my 7$ grease cartridge out of the POS and and packed it up to go back.
Back story:
Our successful GMC season has had some interesting side effects. Like when you put three or four times more mileage on the coach than you have in most prior years, you have to do more maintenance. This means greasing it a lot. Well.
I decided to get another grease gun. I thought about air powered, but I don't like them because you can't tell if grease is actually going in, they just keep chuffing...
But I wanted a flexible nose with pistol grip to make greasing the famous 14 fittings in the front of a GMC less stressful. So I shopped and found that everybody - Except Lincoln - sell grease guns off the same Chinese tooling. So, I went with HF. After the above greased gun wrestling match. I went and spent the big bucks (1/4 of a fuel fill) on the Lincoln. The Lincoln number says it is made in India with Lincoln quality control. It works, but I won't know just how well until tomorrow or Saturday.
I will append this thread.

Juat bought this one. Very pleased.
Lincoln Lubrication 1134 Heavy Duty Pistol Grip Grease Gun with Whip Hose and Rigid Pipe

As noted in several of the ratings you do need to loosen the barrel, and it is really tight. Once you get it loose, it works great on any fitting, and if it gets stuck, just loosen the barrel a bit and it comes right off.

Too bad I didn't know this sooner. I could have stopped by with my good flexible hose grease gun. I needed some steel for the Hot Rods and went right by your place today on my way to/from Van Buren Steel.

I got one of those. Mine has a small notch filed in the rod where the toggle plate grips it. Works great. Ten mionutes with a small file. Caveat: I suspect of you side load the rod somehow, it would fail rightr at the notch. I also got a cheeeep TSC one that still has the keyhole.

The as-promised append.
I spent less than an half an hour hitting all 14 grease points on the coaches front end. My biggest fight was with the fluorescent worklight. That hasn't changed, but it is usually a bad third.
The Lincoln 1133 is a great grease gun. Things that took three pumps with the old straight nose Lincoln, took about five. The coupler is a little touchy about being straight on the zerk or it leeks, but it stays on. And with one had to hold it and one to pump, it is a far less stressful job than in the past.
Matt - Still trying to over grease the old thing.
