I just replaced my fuel pump.
Now replacing the fuel line to carb with the insulated bendable one.
Does anyone know which direction it goes?
I have tried it two way but problem is the line cannot lat flat on top of engine due to the vacuum tree.
Cannot get it to lay low enough to put back on air cleaner

I just had the same problem and have been meaning to call Jim Bounds about it. My steel line went from the fuel pump, in front of the thermostat gooseneck and wrapped back around to screw into the carb.
The new line is long enough to do the same thing but the angle is wrong to line up with the carb. It looks to be 180 degrees off.
I was able to get it on by kind of rolling it around the left side of the gooseneck.

You might find it easier with the carb loosened from the four bolts mounting it to the manifold. Allows you the move the carb and vary the angle of attack to the carb inlet. JWID

I misunderstood the directions, the fuel pump fitting is fixed, you just rotate the hose once it's screwed in. Also the end that goes on the pump is the 45 degree one....not the 90. Mine really on wrong...

I am confused. Why are people having to replace a steel fuel line on the front of the engine? That seems like a strange thing to wear out.

Can't speak for others but mine had a rounded nut at the carb from POs using vice grips on it. Some folks have great difficulty getting them to fit into the filter and even have to loosen the carb to get it to screw in. This unit is a little flexible and insulated.
Comes with no instructions and I guess you have to know that it is documented on their website. I didn't.

P.O. rounded the nut, destroyed the fitting and installed a butchered carb, not OEM. Dick Paterson could not even identify the carb, it was so bad.
New line and a Paterson rebuild makes it all right.

OK Tom. I just wondered why enough people needed a replacement to cause Jim Bounds to have them made up. I guess I understand. That replacement looks like a good offering and I like the added insulation.
For people with a good line, an insulated covering of fire sleeve (used in air planes) will do a good job.

Those will only fit if you have the original one-outlet fuel pump.
They will NOT fit if somebody has replace the original with the two-outlet pump to fit Toronado with A/C.
This also applies to the fire-insulated line from Jim B (COOP).
I have one of each and will bring the Applied GMC (Jim K) solid line to Branson if somebody wants one.

Rob, I bought my "solid" steel line from Applied (Jim K).
The somwhat flexible, insulated line came from COOP (Jim B).

Why would anyone use a two outlet fuel pump when it is not necessary? Just
one more fitting to leak.

Apparently, the 2-hole pumps get used when proper pump is not available. My coach has the 2-holer and the vacuum lines are a nightmare!
