Well still losing power, to recap having a hard time holding 50-60 mph. The vacuum drops right off as am giving lots of throttle to try and maintain speed. To date Dick P and I tore apart and fixed dist. After this I replaced ignition module, coil, cap, rotor and fuel filter. Still happening on intermittent basis. Running all new steel fuel lines, in tank pumps with new socks, no selector valve. Have a shut off valve between tanks and have changed to other pump. Any thoughts appreciated. On the road and spotty Internet so will check ba ck when I can.thanks

A restricted exhaust will cause the symptoms described. Should be able to feel the exhaust at 3000 RPM and tell. It's possible you hit something and crushed the exhaust pipe. Worth getting a bit dirty and looking it over. pump up the air bags on the right hand side and you can feel the pipe all the way down the side.

Well checked the exhaust and all is well. Also checked all vacuum lines again but all ok. On advice of Dick P checked to see if one or two of pickup tubes in carb had fallen out but this ok as well. Thinking if fuel restriction should be all the time not intermittent . Too hot here in north Ohio so going to stay put today in East Harbour State Park. Thanks for everyone's thoughts
