So having just purchased a GMC motorhome and spending countless hours
on the net and phone researching everything, I realize that this seminar, rally, or convention of sorts would be a great place to get alot of info meet all the right people and maybe buy some stuff for my coach.

So if I am not a member in any of the clubs can someone tell me step by step
what clubs need to be joined, etc to be able to register for this event?

Keep in mind I am looking for the most economical route.
If there is one. (-:

I asked a similar question a year or so ago about the GMCMI convention.

There should be some verbage in the bylaws on one or more of the clubs hosting Coos Bay that would allow a "guest" one-time participation without being a member.

I defer to the officers of the respective clubs to fill in the details.

Curt,

Welcome to the group, family, cult, asylum.....

Three things:
1 - All GMC chapters and the International will always welcome any owners (or wanabees). We know that when the bug bites you will be along.
2 - Yes, rallies and conventions are the best way to make contacts and learn a Whole Lot in a real hurry. Word One - Listen - don't just be nice to the old men, Really Listen. There are decades of experience (some good, some bad) and all of it is valuable.
3 - Do up a sig file with your real name, a short bit about the coach including the year and model and major upgrades. This will matter to those with specific advice. And, include a geographic reference. About an half of this group works it from the e-mail list. They don't see the header where you have LA.

And, as you have already found out, this is a tight and friendly community. It reminds me very much of the waterman communities I lived most of my life in. The coach will also be more a part of your life hereon that just another toy you own, so I like to welcome new owner much as we would welcome any new owner or vessel. So,

May the Good Lord bless this coach and all those that set forth within her.

Welcome Curt

Matt

Well Matt Thanks for the warm and hearty welcome!
I honestly got the bug the moment I saw the GMC...
Being a mid-century design fanatic there just isn't much out there
that can satisfy my taste. I would much rather live with an aging
beauty than a new can any day.

Go to GMCWS.org for info and sign up for Coos Bay. I understand all spots with hookups are taken so may have to dry camp. Look forward to seeing you there.

The RV park has allowed us (the 3-club rally at Coos Bay) to double up on many real long SOB sites so the hosts are now thinking that there will be hookups for everyone.
