I'm getting a new one to put on the 78 Royale that I sold. The one that is on it now is fine. But it could be wrong, or start to leak soon. The correct pump I believe has 6 blades on the impeller. Right? Bob Dunahugh

Thanks Bill. But that's Jim's vary nice alum pump. I'm asking about the original cast iron pump.

Bob,

I am looking at a rebuilt cast iron impeller water pump I got from Ken Frey and here's what I can see:

1) Part number cast into housing: 412265
2) Impeller blades = 6
3) Impeller OD = 4 3/16 inches
4) Blade height from back side to tip of impeller at OD = 3/4 inches

Regards,
Rob M.

Gene,

I checked the photos on your website and discovered:

1) I measured the impeller incorrectly - it is not 4 3/16 inches (measured with a tape measure) it is 4.218 inches (measured with a
digital verniers.

2) It is marked 412265 D6 - Which brings the statement below into guest ion.

It must have the D24 on it to be the correct one.

I got it from Ken Frey and I doubt he'd sell me an incorrect water pump.

Regards,
Rob M.

Has anyone had any luck with the AutoZone L58-295 or L58-295H? The have the open impeller but look like they are up to the task.

I did a bit of research on water pumps and the pumps with the largest
impellers were the ones used on 455 Olds irrigation pumps. Here's photos
and dimensions of most of the available rebuilds. I also tested most of
those models on a 150 trip that included long grades and triple digit
temps. Click here:
