spent some more time working on my AC system, it's just not cold, or even cool.

I had it evacuated, a new dryer and I had a second evap under the couch plumbed in.
I put in too much duracool ( about 50 psi on the low side), I was reading the gauges wrong (oops), but then recovered the excess till I showed 25psi.

It's 90 and humid. out.

The AC, both of them, are blowing warm air.
The low side tube is warm.

The high side is only showing 55 psi?
Shouldn't be more like 255psi??

I feel like getting a new compressor, expansion valve and dryer and just starting over.

Seems like either the expansion valve is stuck open or the compressor is weak.

Either one requires opening the system again, so why not just replace them both?

When my air conditioner stopped cooling on the way home from Dothan AL I figured it must have lost so charge. But when I checked it out I found my Los side pressure was fine boy my high side was below. 100 psi.

I replaced the compresdor and evacuated and filled with almost. 3 cans of Duracool and its blowing cold again.

I suspect that your compressor has gone bad.

The high side runs lower with Duracool but it will still be between 150 to 200.

Speaking of Duracool, the equivalent product, Enviro-Safe R-134a is
available in case lots (12 six ounce cans) on Ebay for $47.95 with free
shipping. One seller has these terms or make offer. I made a $42 offer
and he countered with $46.95, so I bought a case.

One should check to see that the evaportivcoil is clear of animal nest.
Our a/c guy was having problems last week, when our most unreliable tech walked in ad looked at the meter and told him to remove the cover and check for restriction there.
Well, he was right.

If your low side pressure is close to the high side pressure say 25 low and 50 high your compressor is shot. Just make sure the clutch was engaged when you checked it at 1000 rpm or more.
