A previous thread cautioned everyone that if they still had the original temp sending unit to go get a NAPA TS6469 to replace it. Do I still need to do that if I have a Temp gauge in the dash which shows temperatures i.e., 100, 140,, 200, 220, 240, 280 ?

If you have a different temperature gauge in the dash it probably came with its own sensor. That NAPA part number was only to make the original gauge read correctly with the 195 near the center of the gauge instead of 1/4.
