As you might know I bought Olga in Berlin and drove her 500 miles homes without doing anyting to her, and did not have any problems.
Now I never drove a gmc or any other american car before, so I have not much reverence. But I was not impressed with her agility, she drove fine, but took her time to get going.
As we took apart the distributor, we found that the pins( mecanical advance) were worn down to a fraction of their original size, ready to brake at any time ( but not on that trip) and obviously the advance was not working as it should.
We also found that vacuum modulator was stuck solid.
So we chanced the pins and springs and the modulator, changed vacuum to manifold ad adjusted ignition ( we already added new sparkplugs, caps and leads.)

Behold: Now the engine shows no vibrations at idle with 700 rpm and make wheelspins on the lawn
