Hello all,

I'm in Minneapolis ,Minnesota

I know there is a lot of conversation about these tires, (i only need 2 ) I
did call pep boys , no luck with them , I called Firestone and they can get
them for $161.99 plus tax , but they can't mount or balance them , they
referred me to a truck shop . A friend said he can get them for me and
mount balance them for 190.00 each , it's a lot but have no choice , just
want to make sure I am getting the correct tires that will match the others
( in today's new tire specs), here is what I have now

Firestone Transforce HT
8.75 R 16.5 LT
M+S tubeless radial
load range E
115/111R
Made in Canada
Date was 2007

need to make a educated decision and fast , that's why I'm putting it out
there
For the GMC group to help

If they are Firestone Transforce HT 8.75R16.5 Load Range E tires, they are the correct tires and $190 per tire mounted and balanced is completely reasonable.

Check Tirerack.com

They have that same tire for $156 each plus shipping. NO tax. You can get a shipping quote online.

Date was 2007? If that's the build date they are already aged out. Don't
buy them.

If you plan to switch to 16 inch wheels -- you might consider buying two 16 inch wheels/tires now and install them on the front.

Go with Tire Rack and check for the closest authorized imstaller to you. You can have Rack ship tires to them and it's safer to use their installer. Ground shipping is cheap.

John,

I ordered a Kumho 225/75-16R "E" from Tire Rack on line. They have a box you can put any requests / special conditions on the order.
I noted that I wanted a tire that was no more than 6 months old. I got a call the day after I placed the order from a guy in their
customer service dept and was told that all their stock was from mid 2012 and did I want the tire? I told him no and he cancelled
the order.

I called Discount Tire and told them what had happened with Tire Rack and the CSR guaranteed that he would ship a tire that was less
than six months old. When it arrive it was 2013 production date. That's April 2013.

Regards,
Rob M.
