We just completed the first leg of the CA to MO trip. Coach ran well with the exception of the VSS and speedometer are not turning. I can do without a speedometer but do miss Lean Cruise and the cruise control. TomTom says we are 425 miles from home.

We are at Angel Lake, near Wells NV. My Altitude on my iPhone tells us we are at 8385 feet. The lake, or perhaps lakelette is pretty and the air is fresh.

If you were near Wells on 80, and wanted a "quick" stop for the night I am not sure I would recommend this spot. The road up here is narrow with the valley on the right side. Ruth is not a big fan of riding on the edge of a road with more sky below you than there is above you. I drove down the yellow line part of the way.

On the other hand it is very nice up here. We saw a fellow fishing, but didn't go over to ask if it was just for sport or if he expected to catch anything. The campground is secluded and quiet. No facilities other than water in couple of places and pit toilets. This is fine with us. No Klieg lights to annoy us in the night. And with our Old Goat Pass, we are spending the night for $8.

Because I think the speedometer connector on the transmission is wallowed out, I am going to devise a bit of shimming (soda can) for the little square VSS rod until I can get to civilization; Randy and Margie Van Winkle's shop in Battlefield, MO.
