I can put the one we have on the Suburban but that's it. At ~60 lbs, I'm
not getting it any higher than that unless I rig a winch or something on
the roof. I've considered making a trailer for it with a small Harbor
Freight type that I have laying around but might need to extend the
tongue for that.

I have an enclosed trailer for our motorcycles and put a roof rack off of
something from a salvage yard on the roof. The kayak racks connect to that .
The kayaks are easy to lift to the top of the trailer, and the trailer has
lots of places to tie supporting ropes to.
