took a short 3 hour trip to Hershey Park for a few days with our daughters' Girl Scout troop, 8 girls and 6 adults. GMC, pop-up and 4 tents shared 3 consecutive camp sites next to the river. Campground is well maintained and shuttle service to the park is very convenient. Oliver ran well, seems to be averaging just under 8 mpg, no towd, 3.07 FD, also 1 qt of oil. oil consumption seems a bit high for a new rebuild. One hour of the trip was over hill and dale to get to RT 22/78. 6 wheel disc brakes are awesome!
Still experiencing some steering looseness on the one ton despite getting the ride height closer to original, I have maybe 3/4" thread left to adjust on the drivers side and 1.5" to make up. I may bottom the adjuster and say " close enough".
This was the first trip with Stephanie, she has followed me to the last couple of trips, she claims she can get used to it. The steering wander kept her on edge. Weather was nice, despite an overnight thunder storm. Got my spares lined up...alternator, ign module, fuel filter, and governor gear. Really close to finishing the Honda EU 6500 install, did not need it on this trip.
Full of chocolate and twizzlers...
