My macerator issues continue. A week or so ago I asked you guys to help with my macerator issues and with all the suggestions I was able to get the tank emptied and the brand new macerator installed. It mounts on the end of the drain pipe instead of the flex hose. I hooked it up and tested it and all seemed fine.

Today I went to drain the tank and a couple gallons of grey water came out, then the motor began to sound like it always has when it gets to the thicker, chunky stuff. It sounded normal but stuff stooped coming out. I back flushed a couple gallons of fresh water into the tank and tried the macerator again and a couple gallons came out. I went inside and ran a couple gallons of hot water down the bathroom sink and nothing came out when I tried the macerator again. How can this be? The tank is two-thirds full. I put nothing down the toilet but toilet paper. Very confusing.

Do you have a slide valve on the end of the tank? It sounds as if it might be stuck closed or perhaps just a little can leak through it. The rod sometimes breaks from the small tab on the face of the valve.

Makes no sense unless you have a broken or loose impeller. I have had both. The last impeller was cracked and when a load hit it then it would not spin with the motor. Took me two tries to figure this one out. I recall that you have no shutoff. So, I am betting on one of the issues with the impeller. Even a new one can be cracked in the center and not take the load.

Then I have to agree with Dan. It is likely in the macerator. Either a bad impeller or else just clogging at the small opening into the grinding chamber of the macerator.

I have also seen where long hair (from a women's head) has twisted around the cutter blade and rendered it inoperative.

Open up that end of the macerator and examine it.

He will figure it out Emery. I have torn so many of these suckers apart that it does not bother me anymore.
See you in Branson.

Lance,

Would you please take some pictures of the plumbing up under your coach and post them to the photo site.
