My family has determined that these would be the perfect vehicles for our camping experience. I saw a couple of larger ones at Bean Station that got me thinking. Sing out if anyone has any for sale.

Devon, I have seen the old Honda Express scooters on Craigs List, in the past. I have a 150 cc Chinese scooter that I have taken to Bean Station. It weighs 254 pounds and I carry it on my bumper with no problems. I got the 150 because I can run the speed limit and not get run over if we need something in or around town. The little 49 cc scooters, like the Express, are hard pressed to run 35 mph. But, that is what you are looking for and they are around. Some of them look pretty good to be so old. I like having insurance when I do hit the city streets. No insurance on 49 cc scooters. I pay 75 bux a year.
Good luck,
Dan

Devin, check Craig's List, under Motorcycles. Put scooter under description and all the scooters will pop up. There was one in this area a while back but it is no longer listed. Use Search Tempest if you do not want to spend a great deal of time on the individual area Craig's Lists. If I see another one, I'll let you know.

There are a couple for sale by me.

I am in the process of putting my Vespa back together to put on the back of our GMC.

Yes, I have been scanning Craigslist. Those two near Hickory NC are nice.

Devin, Using Search Tempest, I found Honda Express Mopeds almost everywhere, within reasonable driving distance. Prices all over the place.

Devin, another alternative is a Yamaha QT50. I have one for nearly twenty years. One kick and it always starts.
I will be bringing my 1975 Motobecane Mobylette moped to Branson. I am down to 5 mopeds from 15. I am always a big hit with the neighbourhood kids.

Yes. That is a nice one. I would have to figure out a way to get it here. I found a guy with 10 nearby. Tried to make a deal to buy 4 and I somehow ended up offending him. It's Craigslist! People are expected to dicker. Right? The lesson I learned is just pick up the phone and call somebody. Its easy to be misunderstood and by that time the damage is done. Live and learn.

I have friends in Knoxville coming to visit at some point, so I could probably get it that close to you.

That would be great and very generous of you Michael although I wouldn't want to impose on your friends. I will contact this guy and see if I can get a deal done. Maybe you could check with your friends and see if it is a possibility. It would actually be going to Knoxville to be serviced by my friend who works on motorcycles. Thank you!

Devin,

I like that -- I have a buddy that is temperamental/sensitive -- from now on I will think of him as a "mood friend"
