Here is my opinion. Probably the hardware would be OK to use but it is not set up with the correct advance both vacuum and mechanical for a GMC.
I wouldn't mind carrying one as an emergency spare but for normal everyday use I would suggest that you contact Dick Paterson at Springfield Ignition in Ontario. He will build one to match you coach exactly. He will ask you questions like final drive ratio, and do you tow a vehicle. Then he will build on to match what you need.

I'll second Dick Paterson's distributors. Mine made and absolutely amazing difference over the stock one. As someone said, the car guys run much more RPMs

I bought one for a spare a few years ago. When I got my Patterson I decided to carry my old one as a spare and pay Dick the core charge. Passed the eBay unit on to another owner. I would never try to use one like this other than to get myself to a shop.
