Looking at a 95 Tracker and will need a tow bar.
I see all kinds available from $65 to over 700.00.
Have no knowledge of what to look for in a tow bar.
Wud appreciate suggestions/comments/ideas.
Thanks,
Richard

Our Tracker was already equipped with Roadmaster baseplates (I think):
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/towing-etc/p35399
It was also wired for tail lights, with diodes, and was set up for a Brake Buddy as well.
I built the frame for the tow bar attachment:
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/towing-etc/p34793
Unlike Steve, I'm not as concerned with the looks of the towd with the bracket attached. It is only on there when we take a trip. I We use a standard adjustable tow bar:
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/towing-etc/p37214
It takes two people to hook it up, but my wife is so good at it, we never have a problem and it only takes a few minutes. It is cheap and dirty, but it works.

We have been a authorized stocking Blue Ox dealer for few years and can tell you that their product are great.
You need to keep in mind that if the bare plate is of another brand, you'll need to have an adapter joint before it will work.
Sometimes those adapters are not cheap.
We have beat prices on deals on the web all over the country as we do not charge tax and our freight is included.
Should you just need suggestions only, I have no problem with that.

I think it is best to have a stowable tow bar of some kind. One that either stays on the front of the towed or on the back of the motor home when you unhitch. I now have an somewhat rigid A-frame type and it is a pain to deal with when I arrive at a campground. At some locations it is necessary to unhitch the Tracker and then move the motor home into its position. However what do I do with the tow bar in those situations! I have to put it in back of the Tracker drive to the camp spot and then take it out and put it somewhere.
I get all depressed when someone in front of me at check in unhitches and drives the towed away in a just a minute or two.
I am somewhat stuck with my current setup for now as the Tracker's previous owner welded his homemade bracket on the front.

Well, if I have to move the toad to take tension off the hitch, it takes me maybe 5 minutes to unhook my fixed (cheeeeep) A-frame. However, I didn't mind cutting the plastic bumper cover and mounting the towbar clips on the bumper beam facing forward. Pull two pins, unscrew two safety chain hooks, the bar is off. If the clips were under the car, it would be a PITA. However, $55 delivered, and a couple hours fitting it. I toss it under the motorhome front bumper when I park.
Most of the show sites I take the GMC to will guive me a parking pass for the towd if it is attached at checkin. Detach it first, they sting you for seperte parking. So, I normally drive in, get my space and window stickers, and then drop the toad and park, walk back and get it.
