so the steering box is out and on the bench.
The top nut was adjusted and now I need to do the preload, but I need an inch/pound torque wrench?
Dang, those things are rarer than hens teeth around here.
Or is there a way to adjust it without a torque wrench?

Anyone have on in Minnesota I can borrow?
I shoulda bought one last week, it would be here by now....
I'll start procrastinating tomorrow

Snap-on cat 1000 has them pn page 294. You have to pick the one in the correct range you are working within.

Got any bicycle repair shops nearby? Might borrow an in-lb torque wrench
from there. Otherwise, it's bicycle tool suppliers you need to check to
buy one.

G'day,

To clarify what you need to people it is a low range 1/4 drive torque beam type torque wrench, I got one (currently residing in my
shop in Sydney) from McMaster-Carr, IIRC it was $60.00. They can get it to you yesterday! ;-)

I got a 1/4" torque wrench from HF. For the little I use it, it was worth the $9.99 on sale. Sometimes if you ask the store manager, they will honor a past sale price. Got an HF near you?

Keith,

I am pretty sure I have one. how many inch pounds do you need?

I might be traveling around later this week and can maybe do a "swing by" or if you want to meet part way. hoping to be helping down in prescott thursday night, and will be down there friday-weekend.

Larry,

If it's a "clicker" type wrench I don't believe it will work to set the steering box AFAIK.
