Hello all, I have another wiring question. well, really two questions. Smile

By the door, I have a switch call "galley". When I flip it nothing happens. I don't think i have a galley light except the one over the sink with its own switch. I also noticed a plunger switch in the frame when I open the door.

I would like to have a way of turning on a light when I open the door. Are the wire accessible to the galley switch or maybe the cockpit doom lights work with the door switch?

thanks

Todd

Todd,

Our Eleganza has a little light on the back of the dinette, right at the lower corner by the door. It goes one when the door opens.

Our galley switch runs the light over the sink.

Todd,

If you wiring has not been changed, the gally light by the door will
operate your over the sink light - sometimes. That is, if the switch on the
light is on the right position, it will turn it on and off. If the switch
on the light is in the other position,, it will only turn on and off at the
switch. Kind of like a household switch that you can turn on at one door
and off at another. So, turn the light off at the sink, thern try to turn
it on at the door. If that doesn't work, rock the switch to the other
position that turns it off at the sink and try again to turn it on at the
door. One of the two positions should work for you.

My switch turns the light over the sink on. However, it never worked with an incandescent bulb. I just thought the switch or wiring was bad. When I switched it to an LED it started working. I can wiggle the switch and the light blinks.

Give it a try with something low current to see if the wiring is good. Someday I'll get a new switch.
