Good morning,
Yes, we are Branson Bound! The convention is going to be fantastic, but how
about the trip you will experience to get there! Preferably no breakdowns,
just a wonderful time enjoying the beautiful scenery and points of interest.
We have received several suggestions of places to see on the way to
Branson. On the GMCMI website (
http://www.gmcmi.com/2013f-points-of-interest/) is a list of places that
have been compiled. Take a look, add your own, print it out....
While you are on the the gmcmi.com website, check out the newly designed
brochure, "My GMC Motorhome Brochure". The downloadable brochure is an
interactive pdf that can be viewed and edited in Adobe Reader. It also has
been designed with large enough margins to allow printing "at full size" on
your printers. As mentioned, the one column "My GMC Motorhome" is totally
editable to include your personal information. Check it out at
http://www.gmcmi.com/gmc-marketing-tools/
Download the file, add your personal information, print, fold and have them
ready on your trip to hand out when people stop and ask you questions.
If you haven't sent in your reservations for Branson yet, please do it
today!
Reservations will be closing soon! Get them in the mail and postmarked by
August 16!
See you soon, for we are Branson Bound!

Hey there, Anne-Marie! I'm up in Jackson, and Tom is over in Vicksburg. It
would be a hoot to have more GMC owners in the area. :)

Hi Anne Marie
You'll be welcomed with open arms to attend your first convention without
being a member. Then you'll be even more determined to fine that special

Anne-Marie, attending the rally BEFORE you buy your coach is absolutely the smartest thing you can possibly do. You brain will explode with all the information you can get just by asking. Plus, there will be open houses where you can actually go inside a ton of coaches and see this floor plan or that floor plan.
Plus, these are the folks who know ALL the coaches that are available and the poop on them. If you buy a coach that is 'known and well cared for', you'll likely be well ahead of the game.
Look forward to meeting you.
I'm a newer member also....just about 9 months now.

Ann-Marie - We are in Diamondhead, MS & it would be great to have another GMCer on the MS Gulf Coast.
We are newbies the second time around. We had a GMC about 20 years ago. It caught fire & we were devastated so it took us this long to come back.
I think you are off to a very good start. Doing it the right way. Seeking advise from all these knowledgeable people. Wish we had done that
When we had our coach before there were no forums. Internet was not like it is today. We did not realize we could get all this help until after we purchased. We probably paid too much. We saw rebuilt engine & rebuilt transmission & thought that's great! Now we have learned so much from this forum & realize that all rebuilt engine & transmissions are not the same. They can be good & bad. We don't know which one we have yet.
One thing that we do know we have a steering issue. It pulls to the right then my husband has to wrestle it back & forth to get it straight. We don't know of anyone around here that is familiar with the GMC. We had thought about taking it to JimB in Orlando (the closest & most qualified person we have heard of) but we don't have time to do that & go to Branson & we are so looking forward to Branson.
Our last OB RV club you could have work done at the rally. Don't know about this one. It would be nice to be able to have the steering fixed.
If you would like to give me a call, my number is 228-342-2551 (Betty).
Look forward to seeing you in Branson & all the people that I have been reading their emails. Feel like I already know them.

Some at Dothan weren't GMCs, and she prorated if you spent fewer days than the entire convention. Worth your while to go and attend the sessions and ask LOTS of questions.

Good morning,
Yes, we are Branson Bound! The convention is going to be
fantastic, but how
about the trip you will experience to get there! Preferably
no breakdowns,
just a wonderful time enjoying the beautiful scenery and
points of interest.
We have received several suggestions of places to see on the
way to
Branson. On the GMCMI website (
http://www.gmcmi.com/2013f-points-of-interest/) is a
list of places that
have been compiled. Take a look, add your own, print it
out....
While you are on the the gmcmi.com website, check out the
newly designed
brochure, "My GMC Motorhome Brochure". The downloadable
brochure is an
interactive pdf that can be viewed and edited in Adobe
Reader. It also has
been designed with large enough margins to allow printing
"at full size" on
your printers. As mentioned, the one column "My GMC
Motorhome" is totally
editable to include your personal information. Check it out
at
http://www.gmcmi.com/gmc-marketing-tools/
Download the file, add your personal information, print,
fold and have them
ready on your trip to hand out when people stop and ask you
questions.
If you haven't sent in your reservations for Branson yet,
please do it
today!
Reservations will be closing soon! Get them in the mail and
postmarked by
August 16!
See you soon, for we are Branson Bound!

Anne-Marie,
It not a requirement that you bring a GMC to the GMCMI rallies. The Bylaws on ELIGIBILITY State:
To be eligible for and to maintain membership in the Chapter, a person must own at least one-third of an FMCA-approved coach, be in good standing with FMCA, and meet the dues requirement and provisions set forth in the Bylaws of this Chapter.
That said, it makes sense that if you own a GMC then that is what you should bring to the rally. At each rally there are 2 or 3 non GMC coaches that are in attendance. Alex & Jeff Sirum always bring their Big coach and some are coming back from wintering in the South or southwest and have a GMC at home. As for a newby wanting to attend as a guest to a GMCMI rally I would suggest that you again send a email to Kimberly telling her that you would like to attend. It is great that your interested in the GMC Coach. The rally would provide GMC overload!

Hello, Anne-Marie
Kim has been very busy with some of the convention details so I will respond for her.
It has been the policy of GMCMI for many years to allow non-members to attend one convention to see how you like it and to get to know the club.
You don't need to own a GMC and you can attend in a SOB (some other brand) or you can attend without a motorhome.
A.convention registration form can be downloaded at www.gmcmi.com.
If you cannot attend the whole week Kim will calculate a reduced fee for you taking into account the nights there are catered meals, etc.
We all are looking forward to seeing you there.
Please just send in your registration or email Kim at kimweeksgmc@gmail.com.
We also offer a free day pass for one day to anyone that just wants to stop by and visit for a day. You are welcome to attend the seminars, open houses and other activities during the day.
Branson should be a great convention.

Emery,
Usually I agree with you but I take exception to one sentence in the email below; in fact I disagree with it VERY strongly!
You noted; "Branson should be a great convention."
I know it WILL be a great convention!
I haven't been involved with the GMC scene as long as you but I've noted whenever GMCer's get together, be it two or two hundred,
for a chat or an convention, be it Branson, MO or Coos Bay, OR it doesn't matter we ALWAYS have a great time! ;-)
Regards,
Rob M.

Rob, you got that right. I was scared heading to our first convention back in 06. I knew only one guy, Richard Archer. They did not give us the new comers tags and we did not know the difference. We just kinda blended in. My brain could not take everything in. When we left there we knew lots and lots of owners. Now they can't run us off. I had never heard of Jim K. But I just kida kept hanging around his table watching and listening. Some guy named Manny flew in and flew out, like a rock star. Who is this guy, I thought. He did the same thing at the next convention in Rayne. This time I stood in line for 2 hours trying to ask him a question. Back in Michigan I saw this guy with a big smile coming to meet me, was Ken Henderson. I rarely see him not smiling. There was a little guy called Stuckey who was full of information and gave it out free. Then, this cranky guy kept popping up everywhere cussing and carrying on about poor wifi. Somehow he sucked me into helping him and now I just can not shake Ken Burton. He even followed me to Quartzsite.
I can go on and on about what Rob said. If you have not attended a convention, make plans for one. You will never regret it. Friends for life.
See you at Branson or Coos Bay,, or one coming in the future. These folks know how to enjoy themselves while teaching others how to care for a 40 year old coach.
