Okay, few random questions for you as we get started here.
First, I read in an online guide that you can not back up in the GMC when towing. How would you get your boat into the water if that is the case?
What was the best upgrade you have made to the GMC? The one that gives you piece of mind or the most enjoyment?
Do any of you collect mementos from your travels? What do you collect? Thought it might be fun to do a magnet, or a picture in front of city sign or a mug, etc. Anyone collect things from their trips?

Sure you can back up.
What you read was probably meant for backing up with a toad behind. If you are not careful you can get the front wheels of the toad turned and then cause some breakage of parts on the toad if you continue backing up. That being said, I have backed my toad up two blocks once when I found myself in a dead end position where they had fenced off a section of the street for repairs but didn't post a sign at the entrance of the street. I used my rear view mirror and very slowly backed up without zig zagging the toad.
I really didn't want to take the time to unhook the toad and back it up and then back up the GMC.
Backing up with a boat is fairly easy. I have done it many times.
Just be careful on boat ramps. If too steep you might find that your front wheels will spin and you will be stuck on the ramp. Especially if they are wet.
I have been at some places where I asked someone with a pickup truck by the ramp if they would hook up to my boat and back it in for me. Someone will usually oblige.

Two things
1 - I was told never to back up with a towd as the tow bar can't handle it. I am new to this towd business - just what I was told.
2 - Folks I know who launch boats with a GMC have a hitch on the front bumper so exiting the ramp they are "backing up." That is how mine ended up with a hitch there. i don't boat though.

Besides the strain oon the towed vehicle backing up a vehicle with 4 wheels widely separated, the seconde biggest problem is that you can not see it in your mirrors. I just went through this backing up a canoe on a 2 wheel trailer up my 400 foot driveway. I got it done but it was not fun.

I'm wondering why someone would install a front hitch to launch/retrieve a boat. That puts the drive wheels in the wet for sure.
I've seen many traditional RV's set up that way so the drive wheels stay on dry ground.

Certainly you can back it up, just not very far, and with a lot of looking. With a boat of any size, I'd worry about sticking the tail end of the copach too deep in the water before the boat floated. The PO of my SOB mounted a trailer hitch on the front bumper for boat launching... way easier to guide. And, unlike the rear hitch, all it's ever gonna dop is throw the boat in and out at very low speed, so a cheesy hitch would do fine.

Congrats on the new coach Alex!
I used to collect magnets, hat pins and t-shirts, but have since stopped. I just ended up with a pile of magnets, a drawer full of t-shirts and a hat that weighs too much to wear loaded with pins. None of those things help me remember places like a good photograph.
Favorite upgrade:
Here are some of the less expensive things I have done that I am glad I have:
Oxygenics shower head. As close as you can get to a real shower in the GMC:

Grocery bag holder for trash can. Fits under the sink, stays out of the way:

Sink drain strainer. Something like this one:
http://www.ecvv.com/product/3153904.html (I got a set of two at a local store for a couple of bucks, may have been Wal-Mart or Target, possibly Bed,Bath & Beyond)
Added some extra shelves in various cabents, like the closet, under fridge cabnet and a couple of other places. Makes for much more efficient use of the space, which is critical in the GMC.
Added a rod/bar to the top shelf in the medicine cabnet so stuff doesn’t fall out. Added a shower curtain rod above the sink and below the medicine cabnet which gives a lot of extra towel hanging space.
I tend to boondock the majority of time, so 12v chargers for phone, tablet and computer.
A couple of mechanical things:
A mascerator pump. It make the messy job of emptying the holding tanks quick, easy and relatively clean. Even better when someone with the old school dump kits is having to watch you breeze thru a dump while they are fussing with their stuff.
Auxiarly vacumm pump for the brakes. You will be glad you have this when the GMC engine stalls and you need to stop the coach.

A second vote for JC4 auxiliary vacuum pump and the mascarator.
To the main list add a modern 3 stage battery charger and a combiner.
Inexpensive nice addition, change over to LED lights for the interior lights, less heat, more light, less battery drain.

More things:
Depends on your tow bar, your tow'd, how closely you monitor the process,
and MURPHY.
If you absolutely have to back up the tow'd, safest way is to have your
navigator sit in it and steer. Do it slowly.

I tried the oxygenics on sale for 39 bucks and it was not as good as the stock one in the palm beach so i took it back.
mickey anaheim ca. 77 palm beach. maybe you have a different pump pressure or something but the stock one seems
strong and large pattern to me, i plan to put in an extension to make it higher and over the top of the head. :-)
what is a good way to charge the gmc from running a toad that is smaller and uses less gas, new topic maybe.?
