What macerator hose is everyone using? I would think 1" and I would prefer not seeing what I'm pumping. Seems the big box stores only have clear...will this be a Grainger purchase?

I use a garden hose with quick dis connectors. I did add a clear section to the hose so it wold be easier to see the end of the operation.

I use 1" black rubber hose obtained from a plumbing supply store. The sound of the pump changes when the tank is empty.

We have tried several with our customers.
We use a plastic type hose that is reinforced to reduce kinks and very
similar the ones that come with kits for all RV with Massorator pump.
Our hose is more pliable when weather cools.
Call us for quote.

I use corrugated garden pond hose....not my idea but someone had it posted on here and I found it digging through the history. It's cheap enough - I also added a garden hose adapter to the end and have a stick of PVC tubing tied to the frame under the coach to hold it. Search on corrugated garden pond tubing or try this link

I have used this hose for the macerator hose with quick disconnect fittings. I made up 1 5 foot length and 2 10 foot lengths. It coils up for storage as you hitch the ends together. I store a 10 foot section in some pvc pipe under the coach. This 10 foot section handles 95% of all hookups.

The disconnect fittings I got from Northern Tool but you may find these local at farm supply stores

These 2 fittings make up the hose:

I have to admit, when i installed my macerator, I shopped every store in the midwest, for the hose I wanted. Never did find it. I wanted the biggest hose I could find that was close to the output of the macerator. I wanted it flexible. and I wanted it to last.

I did not find it.

I talked to Jim K. he told me he had solved the above problems. especially the flexibility of the larger diameter hose. so I ordered just the hose from Jim. hose was cheap, shipping was a little annoying. but it is a very flexible, 1 " hose. goes right on the jabsco macerator without any adapters. I have a nylon male hose end on the end of it that fit perfect, so I can hook to garden hose to go any distance.

I could of used a garden hose, but still would of needed adapters to get it hooked up to macerator. and I think most places sell no less then 75 feet of 3/4 hose. so it still costs a bit of money.

here is my write up:
http://lqqkatjon.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html

you can see the hose in that picture.

Check out Lowes garden center (not in plumbing)for water pond corrugated hose, 3/4 inch $18.89 for 20 ft. They also have larger sizes:
http://www.lowes.com/Search=pond+hose?storeId=10151&langId=-1&catalogId=10051&N=0&newSearch=true&Ntt=pond+hose#!

The PO put a pvc pipe with male quick disconnect plumbed to the Macerater via flexible tubing. The pipe sticks out on the drivers side right between the rear of the coach and the bumper. I put a female quick disconnect on the pond hose and hook it up to the hard pipe in a few seconds.

Sean,
I used a 1" spa hose. I fastened a piece of PVC 17' long to the frame and
stowed the hose there. Served me and the current owner well for many years.

All,
I have used the corrugated style hose only because it came installed on the Stretch when I got it. Having used a smooth bore style hose on the coach in the past that I sold, I found it very hard to empty all the Pee & Poo out of the line before storing the corrugated hose. The smooth bore style hose can be drained with little or less of any P & P left. There really isn't all that much difference in price in stepping up to the smooth bore hose than using the slightly cheaper hose corrugated hose. If you have read my earlier post of yesterday I gave all the part numbers to build a hose that could be used, cleaned and stored at a reasonable price. If I get time today I will shoot some picture of the revamped Poo system on the stretch. Larry shows how to store your hose under the coach and it works well. Conduit sized depending on what you're trying to shove into it.
