Some nice person designed and put up to use GMC hand-out pamphlets.

Well, we are going to be part of a vintage camper display in Milan (MI) next weekend and I want to have at least a few printed before we get there.

Problem, I did not bookmark them and I can't find them.

Isn't it interesting that the president of GMCES doesn't know what's on
the club's website. Who would have thought that?

OK, sarcasm aside. This is what you're looking for, Matt.

Actually Byron,

I did remember them being on the GMCES site, but I couldn't find them. There is so much good information there that it a little tough to find the piece you need some times. I though I had seen it in the members area. The search for "pamphlet" and several others, came up empty.

But, with help, I found it. Unfortunately, there no way all that I can to directly import those as they are a proprietary file type and anything more that straight text comes in with the formatting trashed.

It would take a lot more time and patience than I have available to fix those. It would have been nice to have some printed for this weekend, but it would cost me a lot of money to buy any MS package that would allow me to do that. So, I will just go with my good old windshield board (I remade it as it was kind of shabby) and some business cards that have GMCers.org (I had collected the logo from that site a while back) and the QR of the same.

We will be ready to field questions that are not answered by the 1x3 foot windshield sign and will have the giant QR there.

I thought about trying to hang out the GMCES banner, but I don't know what will be there.

Matt - The carpet and windows are clean.

Bruce,

Thanks, but I tried my OO for this and still got a bad format. It may be that my version is too old, I will check that later today. I do know for fact (confirmed) that Redmond worked very hard to make nothing else work with their files. It also turned out that unless the machines in our office were IDENTICAL configurations, nothing but straight text files could be shared successfully.

I will check later and see if my OO is up to date.

Thanks,

Matt

Rob,

Since you're in a pinch, if you'd like you can email the file to me, along
with any changes necessary. I will make the changes and email a pdf file
back to you, which you can then print.

Matt,
I tried OO 3.4 and it opened it with no issues.

Just checked and Open Office 4.0.0 is now available so I downloaded it before leaving the Office this morning, but not yet installed.

I understand that MS has added some "extensions" to their Open Document file format so only MS products can open their .ODT properly. Once again making an Open Format file spec PROPRIETORY!

Bruce,

I sent Matt a PM suggesting he do the same thing. The .doc format isn't so
proprietary any more. The spec has been released to the world and no
license goes to MS to use it anymore. Now, .docx is a different animal.
