I would like to be able to adjust the blower speed when it's in the max air position. Its a type II so it only runs on high when in Max (recirculate). Did some searching but was unable to find any instructions. Has anybody done this before? The air is now working so good with the Duracool and fixing the vacuum lines that I need to turn it down!
Thanks all...

Daryn,

It's been many years since I did it, but IIRC, there's an orange wire
between the fan switch on the left side of the HVAC control and a contact
on the right side. That's the source of power in the Max Air position.
Unplug that jumper and you'll gain full control of the fan.

Daryn,
Just move the switch back to regular AC and you have control of the blower. If it cools on max then it should cool in regular AC also. That is the way that GMC designed it although poorly in the 75 coaches. You don't need to make any changes. You don't have Type II air as that was available in 1977 coaches and newer. It was not available in the 75 coach unless you retro fitted it with all the hardware and controls.

You don't have the Type II as that only came with late 77 and 1978 GMCs.

I will email you Jay Brands "seperating hot from cold" presentation from the GMCWS site.
That might help you.

Yep...that's it! Thanks Ken. Unpluged the orange wire and I now have full control in all modes. I guess it's what you call Type 2 not Type II? I made a new vent for the bottom, as the original was missing, that really blows the air where I need it. It works great with the new charge of Duracool.
It's a small thing...but it makes me happy...thanks again all
