Thanks guys for all the info an helps on these pages
As I wrote yesterday I m cleaning up electrics, took out a flimsy relais that acted as a combiner and put in this intellegent combiner (no isolator) so I could trow out the wire that actuated the relais on ignition
I changed the wiring to the starter as suggested and now i feel my starter could start a f16 insted of the hessitating starter I had before
I also changed the wiring between the solenoid and the combiner as they were thredbare

Just wondering, on idle the altenator gives 14.7 is that not a bit high?

Yes it is high for a combiner installation without an isolator installed. An isolator injects a .7 volt drop across it but the alternator boosts the voltage to make up for it. Since there is no drop with the isolator removed I would expect something around 14 to 14.2 volts. Keep an eye on it and see if it drops after the alternator warms up.
