The new Snake and Mongoose movie (due out this Fall?) trailer seems to have a GMC in the background at 1:57 of this trailer.

Jim,

Good Eyes, but it is a near miss. It is one of the Airstream motorhomes with a nose a lot like ours.

Matt - glad he has broadband on the road.

Matt, look at the trailer again. Focus on a cute chick. Behind her is the
entry door with the distinctive GMC door latch. The GMC is only in the
picture for perhaps 2 seconds. The next scene looks like a continuation of
the previous one, but the coach behind the new and different chick is of
riveted construction. I had to watch it twice before I caught it, and I
spend a lot of time editing video clips for my tech presentations, which
involve a lot of short videos edited together. It is a GMC for sure.

I'd like to get a good close-up look at how Airstream did the sliding front side windows. I've been working on this for our GMC's but I have not yet developed an elegant solution.

Jim,

Look at the windshield and the passenger windows. Not GMC.
The door is also hinged to the rear. Not GMC
The door latches were not GMC except for early 73 and they failed and were replaced with common truck parts. Probably where Airstream got the idea.

There is a GMC coach at the 0:37 mark in the background, left of frame, behind the 2 people and at the 0:57 mark. Same coach in both pictures. I didn't see any other shots that were GMC's.

There will be at least one GMC in the movie. They rented two of my old
dragsters and I spent days on the sets. There were three or four GMC's
there. At first I thought I should have offered to rent them mine as well as
the dragsters, but then I saw them running people in and out, tracking in
dirt. Then I was happy mine stayed at home.

There will be a segment with McEwen racing Ivo in my recreation of the
Barnstormer. Stunt drivers in both current cars sitting (one at a time)
before a Blue Screen with a smoke machine blasting smoke over the car and
Gaffers shaking the car to simulate motion. This will be interspersed with
actual footage of the depicted race back in 1966.

If it's in front of a bluescreen, why the stunt drivers? :)

I was told that everyone who appears on screen has to be a union member. The
guy who was the "Car Wrangler" and action consultant is a member of, I
guess, Screen Actors Guild. So he was in the seat for each of the bits of
footage shot with any action. The actors playing Snake and Mongoose will be
in the old cars with current footage shot, but if they're moving, they were
pushed by hand or by a push car, no motors running.

Prudhomme jumped into the seat of the Greer, Black and Prudhomme car and did
a "just for the hell-of-it" smoky launch at Bakersfield, but it won't be
part of the movie. First time he has ever sat in one of the old dragsters
since he quit driving them back in the 60's.

Looks like an interesting movie...

On Interesting movies:

I died a little bit when I watched part of "Sharknado" and they are making a sequel
I died some more when I watched "The Watch" . "Shoot the Aliens in the Dick!" I mean, Really?

We either get this crap or remakes.

I'll score you on that one. I have never seen wheels like that on a coach, but I'll keep looking for them.
