Before I plunk down big $$ on a set of aluminum rims, I just wanted to check and see if anyone had some 16" rims they wanted to get rid of. Steel or aluminum, I'm open at this point. Thanks for your time.

Otterwan,
I'm over here in Spokane and priced 16" steel "duelly" wheels at a Les Schwab Tire store. As I recall, they came to about $700 for 6. You just need to get accurate dims. for the offset.

Hi Ken. Another forum member was told the same thing and had the Les Schwab store bring in a rim for him to try. They fit on the back but not the front. He said they might have fit will some grinding on the calipers, but he didn't want to do that.

I bought Alcoas from JimK. I spent a lot of time looking for steel wheels and never did find a full set.

Otter,

Good Luck.
It took me two plus years to collect 13 usable rims. I had to buy sixteen. Many of the trucks that used those rims were not well treated. It turned out that there are more than a few that have gone from 16" steel to alloy, but the shipping cost for the the two sets I heard about would have been a killer.

Although I liked the idea of saving the $$$ by using steel, I decided to go for the Eagles from Jim K., as I like that they sell each wheel w/hardware, rather than the wheel + additional price of the hardware. Glad to find out about the fit problem. Thanks for the FYI.

I heard that Chevy/GMC Truck rims from something like 73 to 82 or so would work?

Does anyone know what rims from other vehicles will work for sure?

Thanks,

The numbers you want to look for are 28177 or 27994. Note that the new numbers that supposedly supersede these DO NOT fit. The wheels are from Chevy/GMC vehicles from the 70's through the early 90's.
