And yet the Palm Beach is the one you're most likely to see in original
colors.

Yes it's a lot of green (when I bought mine it was just like this), it is fairly obvious the owner thought a lot of it to maintain it in this condition.
Only wish someone would donate one like this to the RV museum.

Hey Bill. I asked about that at the museum last year. About whether they would be open to switching display coaches for a more original coach if one were donated, and I was told they weren't interested. I didn't get a reason, maybe storage costs?, but it was a pretty flat out answer like they'd fielded the question before.

Hi Richard,
I spoke with Al Hasselbart the curator about 2 months ago and mentioned how discouraged I was about their interest in improving the GMC MH exhibit. My take is that they had been about to default on some significant loans and they were all consumed on somehow surviving these difficulties. Their debt has been reduced by nearly 50% and a favorable debt reduction/repayment plan is in place.
I do believe storage space may be a problem, they have a large inventory and with new plans to rent out space for activities, shows, etc. space is probably even at more of a premium.
He still seems reluctant to let anyone work on the GMC there to improve it (back to "more" original). I do think he could be convinced if a dedicated group of GMCers signed up to a plan & work schedule to accomplish this.
In my opinion, an even better solution would be to have an original beauty like the Palm Beach Palm Beach donated :^)
This also just jogged my memory. Hasselbart seemed interested in getting rear wheel skirts for their GMC on display. I told him I would try to get him a set......I forgot. Anyone out there who would like to donate a set of skirts to the museum?
Please let me know.
Thanks,
Bill Bryant

As the owner of one pretty close to that one, I'm not offended, but I will say that it's the color which looks most at home in the state parks we visit frequently. The green blends in well with the landscape in huge contrast to most of the ugly white boxes with random stripes and push outs which park nearby. I believe Frosted Mint was one of the most popular colors produced.
