Just got back from a 4200 plus mile trip to WI. & MN. in our 73, 23' GMC.
Had 95 plus degree weather both going & coming back.
Had 25 to 30 mph head winds for 3 1/2 days on the way back.
Was 109 in S.W. Kansas with 30 mph head winds, so gas mileage went out the
window.
Ran the gen. & dash air to stay comfortable.
Was so anxious to get back to cooler weather that I drove from Liberal, KS.
to our home in Pinetop, AZ. without stopping.
Emory is right about putting a little more Dura cool in your system as the
evap. had a tendency to freeze up in the
high humidity which is not a problem here in AZ.
Had to use the electric fuel pump in towns mostly, otherwise stumbling not
an issue.
The only glitches we had were the high speed blower relay quit so bypassed
it & I had replaced the heater hoses
before we left & the heater core started dripping, so I bypassed it until
when we get back.
We didn't have so much as a low tire the whole trip.
The coach ran great for a 40 year old machine.
So don't be afraid to your baby on a trip.
The only pictures I took was of the family & friends we visited so didn't
want to bore anybody with those.

Great report Jim. I love to hear success stories like yours. Our '75 generally performs flawlessly on trips too, although we can't take the time to do long trips like that just yet. When we can, I won't worry about the coach.

Great trip report Jim. If everyone took as good of care of their coach,
we'd hear more success stories like yours. Your attention to detail pays
off.
Good to take trips to MN once in a while, reminds you why you left :>)

Steve;
I forgot to add that I was pulling my Chevy. HHR toad on the trip also.
Yes it brought back memories real fast (mosquitoes, horse flies, nats, wood
ticks ect.) as to why we left.
