Saturday Frank Sundram and I went to see the abandon coach I had mentioned. We discussed the situation at length and Frank made the landowner an offer that was accepted.
No Title, No Key, but it is his now.
Over the next couple of weeks we will cut some brush, air up the rear and as many of the tires as will hold air and arrange for it to be dragged back to my place. That is only about 6 miles and I have room. Then we will asses what it is worth either as salvage parts or possibly a running coach. Where that come down is anybody's guess at this time.
One of my first efforts will be to pull the steering wheel and get the lock cylinder out so I can get a key made just because that will make doing so much that we have to do so much simpler.
I will let everybody know where this goes when I know more.

Matt,
Based on our recent 19-year recovery, from a more benign environment than
you've described, expect the front brakes to be locked up. Since you plan
to tow it, that may not be a problem, but keep it in mind as you plan the
rescue.

No need to engage a locksmith - just pull the ignition switch out and replace it with a new one (since that key isn't used for anything other than the ignition). The one I bought at NAPA cost me a whopping $17 and came with two keys.

I have some 16.5" steel wheels and tires in my hangar for use in moving derelict coaches. You can use them if necessary.
Dan will not like them because the tires are more than 5 years old but they are usable.

Thanks for confirmation and the heads up.
I am actually expecting all six to be locked up and I only have small hope for the frame, but you just never know.

Matt: cyl & key is on the way. to install: remove steering wheel & lock spring (tools needed), horn button & small spring. Remove turn signal lever, 4 way hazard button and 3 screws holding turn signal switch. Unplug the 10 wire harness to the turn signal switch at the base of the dash on the column. Lift the turn signal switch out just enough to clear the steering shaft and leave hanging aside. Since there is no key in the switch the buzzer switch (plastic housing with 2 long copper contacts sticking out of it)should pull straight up with a pair of plires. Note how the spring is set around the switch when removing. To unlock the cyl use a small screwdriver in the narrow vertical slot to push in and pull cyl at the same time. Install the new cyl by pushing in till it locks in the slot. Remove the key and in the square hole that the buzzer switch goes in using a small screwdriver push the white plastic tab on the cyl up out of the way and install the buzzer switch. The buzzer switch will not go in or come out with the key in the cyl. Install everstuff else in reverse order. If you run into any Grimlens just call me. PS: the screw for the turn signal lever is pointed and the 3 screws that hold the turn signal switch in the column are flat nosed and have a different thread pitch. Make sure the turn signal switch is seated properly (4 way hazard switch in center of hole) before tightening the 3 screws.
