What do you do for seat belts for the kids and grand kids? and passengers in general? We have been talking about what we want to do with the interior layout and I came to the conclusion today that we only have 2 forward facing seats. This coach has been converted to a permanent bed in the rear which I want to keep and the front living area has 2 couches facing each other which gives you a really open feeling which I like but it limits the forward facing seating. Do you allow riding in side facing seats?

The side facing couch has belts? How do they tie into the frame or do they?
Thanks
Brian

The side couch and the dinette seats had seat belts in most models. They are bolted to the floor. You might take a look, they might be there.

My 1976 PB side facing couch has seat belts. I forget if the front and rear facing dinette seats have them or not.

I put three belts on my couch, but didn't have any mounting points on the wall, though it appears other similar Royales might. I ended up running 1/2" high-strength steel braided cable around the frame rail, up through the floor, across the couch frame near the pivot (between the lower and upper cushions), and back down to the frame via a VERY large eye bolt (the kind they use for guy wires - the "bolt body" is about 3/4" thick). I keep the belts in place using PVC tubing slid over the cable, and the belt "eyes" ride directly on the cable. I'm absolutely certain that the strength of this arrangement is more than high enough, though there's no doubt there's a different dynamic in a collision when you're facing sideways (no matter what kind of seat belt you're wearing).
Sorry - I never took photos of this arrangement, but will try to do so some time in the future.
