This is aimed at Rob M. but is for everyone. Yesterday, I saw 12 propeller blades with Hamilton Standard "Logos" on them. And I immediately thought of Rob Mueller (sp?).
They were attached to the engines on a B17 bomber at the Hamilton Ontario airport !! The plane belongs to the Commemorative Air Force and is here through July 7/2013. Expensive "rides" are availble Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
There maybe the B17 and a Lancaster in the air together Saturday.
Lots of room to park a GMC MH in the Canadian Warplane Heritage parking lot at the Hamilton Ontario airport.

Rob, the B-17 had Hamilton Standard "decals on each blade. The "Lanc" had sonething else on them. So you think Lancs originally came with Hamilton Standard props ?

Dave,
Hamilton Standard had a rep based in England during WWII and I assumed it was to support our props, the decals on the Lancaster
could have been from the shop that overhauled them.
For the hell of it I Googled "Lancaster Propellers" and Wikipedia noted:
"and the change from de Havilland "needle blade" propellers to Hamilton Standard or Nash Kelvinator made "paddle blade"
propellers.["
By the way the rep that was based in England during WWII became the VP - Marketing when I first started at HS. His claim to fame was
when asked for copies of his expense reports upon return to the USA after his four year tour in England he noted; "they were
destroyed in a bombing raid."
Clever guy, eh?
Regards,
Rob M.
