Larry,
I have had my '76 Glenbrook buried to the frame in mud. Do /not/
attempt to drive the coach out of a situation like this, you will only
succeed in getting in deeper and possibly damaging something or
someone. I used 2-ton come-alongs and chains/steel cables to winch
myself out an inch at a time. Put the tranny in neutral, point the
front wheels appropriately and kill the engine. Winch, winch, winch.
If you have mats or similar aids, use them, but only for support.
Note: Try to buy an American made come-along if you can find one. The
Chinese knock-offs are junk. My come-along paid for itself the first
time I used it to pull a fully loaded 18-Ft Ryder truck about
one-hundred feet after the frozen ground turned to muck during a move.
I've been there... more than once.
