My wife, grandson and I attended The Great Race stop-over in Cape Girardeau,
MO this past Wednesday. It truly is a great event for old vehicle
enthusiasts, like all of us. Just by chance, I happened to meet and talk
with Jeff Stumb, the Director of The Great Race. He is a down to earth,
interesting guy and a former participant in the race himself. I am attaching
the web site for this year's event. The rules and regulations are under the
REGULATIONS tab. As I understand it, there is a handicap system for
modifications to cars. The example Jeff gave me was a '34 Ford entry with a
'55 Ford engine would be listed and handicapped as a '55 Ford. The older
the vehicle, the better the chance of a good finish score. The rules detail
all this. http://www.greatrace.com/news/st-paul-mn-great-race.html
