I just created a mailing list of those whom I think may be interested in my
blog postings. It's intended to let folks know when I post so they don't
have to keep checking. I did not intentionally include any GMCNetizens
'cause I figured y'all would get the word here. BUT, I apparently can't
include "gmclist..." in the list 'cause it gets held for review. So I'll
keep posting directly here. Like now:

Ken,

I love the reaction you had when you pulled into the grove of redwoods. Can you imagine what lumbermen must have thought when the first saw those trees? An oak can grow to be mighty big, but a redwood?

Enjoy the trip. It sounds like you won't need any prodding to do so!

Nice pics and write up Ken. My Aunt lives in Ferndale and her hubby, my
adopted uncle, was a CHP officer and that entire area was his beat. He
knows where all the neat stuff to see is. Sent you an email about a very
nice RV park and a few places to visit but I guess it got lost in cyberland.

Looks like I'm about 30 miles from them, at Ancient Redwoods RV park,
between Red Crest & Rio Dell -- where the heck ever they are! This is the
first place I found after realizing that all the crooked road driving and
rubber-necking had worn me slap out and put a crick in my neck. :-)

Exit 691 to Fernbridge drive will take you to the nicest park in the area,
Riverwald RV park. Jump in the toad and head into Ferndale for breakfast
at Pappa Joes. You will not be disappointed. That area is wonderful to
explore. Used to be a very secret, secluded USN base there where this
mysterious, huge, black cable went into the ocean. Everything disappeared
overnight and nothing is left but the slabs. Even the gate and chain link
are gone. From Ferndale, you can had to Petrolia for a real step back in
time and an aerial view of Mendocino point. Stop for some cheese at Lolita.
